Airbus DS Secure Land Communications (SLC), a division of Airbus Defence and Space, is responsible for the development of telecommunication products and solutions for security and emergency rescue agencies. Its Professional and Land Mobile Radio (PMR/LMR) networks – based on Tetra, Tetrapol and P25 technology – offer secure radio communication solutions to protect, rescue and save people. It offers e.g. radio and transmission networks, terminals and dispatching solutions. The portfolio also encompasses mission-critical broadband solutions based on 3GPP standards and emergency response centres (911/112). SLC is a leader in PMR, with more than 280 radio networks in over 74 countries and employs approximately 1700 people in 20 countries.

In order to reinforce the local engineering & technical support team, Airbus DS SLC, based in Diegem, is looking for a:

Telecom / IP Network Engineer

Mission-critical solutions for security and emergency rescue agencies

 

Ensuring the reliability of critical communication networks

  • Trouble shooting and resolutions of incident and problem tickets
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of software and preparing upgrades with minimal impact on the end-user service
  • Implementing and commissioning of the last generation telecommunication products and software
  • Coordinating with other support engineers from Airbus’ partners and with the R&D expert center when needed
  • Reporting within customer meetings, being owner of your cases
  • Intervening in the area of Belgium
  • Contributing to and learning from the international support team (methodology, training, lessons learned, tools)

 

Telecom / IP network engineer with a proactive mindset to protect, rescue and save people

  • Bachelor or Master in engineering, preferably in electronics or ICT
  • Strong affinity with communication networks and related topics (IP, IPSec, Firewalls, LAN/WAN, VMWare)
  • Eager to learn new technologies and willing to grow and develop your technical and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a very structured manner, preferably with basic knowledge of project management tools / ITIL process
  • Dynamic team player with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Able to work autonomously and to report both internally and towards customers
  • Willing to take responsibilities in a mission critical and international environment
  • Fluent in English and proficient in Dutch and/or French
